Summary

The job description is for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer role at Trendyol, a dynamic e-commerce company with a global presence. The role involves managing a hyper-scale OpenStack and Ceph cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, performance, fault tolerance, and data consistency. The ideal candidate should have a degree in Engineering or Computer Science, 5+ years of experience in Linux, networking, virtualization, containerization, coding, storage systems, software-defined systems, high availability, load balancing, and cloud computing concepts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, Statistics
• 5+ years of experience in proficient in Linux (Debian and RedHat derivatives)
• Strong knowledge of Linux networking and preferably SDN (Software Defined Networking)
• Experience with virtualization (Libvirt, QEMU, KVM)
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.)
• Ability to code (Bash, Python, Ansible, Git)
• Experience with storage systems (Ceph, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of software-defined systems
• Strong knowledge of high availability and load balancing
• Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and technologies
• Experience with Monitoring and Metrics systems (Prometheus, Netdata, etc.)

Responsibilities

• Managing a hyper-scale OpenStack and Ceph cloud infrastructure
• Ensuring both OpenStack and Ceph scale effectively without degradation in performance as the number of nodes, services, and users increases
• Managing compute, storage, and network resources to meet the needs of a growing infrastructure, including the automation of scaling operations
• Designing systems that are fault-tolerant and can handle failures of individual components without service disruption
• Ensuring data is consistently replicated and can be quickly recovered in the event of a failure, which is critical for Ceph storage clusters
• Managing complex networking scenarios that involve software-defined networking (SDN), and integrating with various network providers and technologies
• Performing upgrades without downtime or service disruption in a hyper-scale infrastructure where services are distributed across many datacenters
• Ensuring compatibility between various components of OpenStack, Ceph, and other integrated services or applications
• Quickly identifying and resolving issues in a complex environment, which requires a deep understanding of the architecture and interactions between components
