Summary

Join Pennylane, a rapidly growing Fintech company, as their experienced People Experience Manager. Reporting to the Head of People Operations, you will oversee workplace experience, manage events and community building, lead internal communications, and manage a team of two. This role is crucial in shaping employee experience during a period of growth and internationalization. You will collaborate with various teams and ensure a welcoming and functional workspace for all staff. Your responsibilities include designing and delivering events, fostering a strong company culture, and implementing an internal communications strategy. This position requires significant experience in people experience, office management, and internal communications within a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Experience: 8+ years in people experience, office/workplace management, internal communications, or similar roles in a scale-up or fast-paced, international environment
  • Leadership: Proven experience managing and developing a team
  • Project management: Highly organized, with strong forward-planning and anticipation abilities, able to handle multiple large-scale projects (seminars, offsites, events) simultaneously
  • Community builder: You’re passionate about creating inclusive, engaging, and memorable moments for employees
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English
  • Strategic: You bring vision and structure to new or evolving topics (internal comms, EVP, etc.), and love building from scratch
  • Collaborative: You excel at working cross-functionally, especially with HR, management, and external partners
  • Hands-on: Energetic & resourceful
  • To speak English (level is assessed and appreciated according to the department you’re applying to)
  • To be energized by an ever-shifting work environment
  • To be highly collaborative (within your team or other stakeholders)
  • Sufficiently experienced to prioritize business-led actions on your day to day activity

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily management of our Paris office in close collaboration with co-working space coordinators
  • Ensure a welcoming, safe, and functional workspace for all staff, including health & safety, supplies, and office ambiance
  • Manage vendor relationships and continuously improve office facilities and processes
  • Respond proactively to employee needs regarding workplace and travel
  • Design, plan, and deliver a diverse range of events: annual global seminar, large team offsite , management offsite, Pennylane tech days and regular Pennylane Talks
  • Foster a vibrant Pennylaner community, championing our values and a strong sense of belonging
  • Support managers in creating engaging and effective team-building experiences
  • Oversee onboarding events and rituals to ensure a world-class, personalized new-hire experience
  • Build and implement our internal communications strategy from the ground up: channels, rituals, content, and feedback loops
  • Develop and activate Pennylane’s Employee Value Proposition (EVP) to attract, engage, and retain top talent
  • Document and share key office life information, ensuring transparency and alignment across our growing and international teams
  • Lead, develop, and empower a People Experience team of 2
  • Partner closely with the People Ops and HR teams on projects related to RSE (CSR), ED&I, and employee wellbeing
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation in all People experience initiatives
