Senior Performance Engineer

Summary

OpenVPN is seeking a Senior Performance Engineer to develop and maintain a continuous performance testing pipeline for their product Cloud Connexa. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, diagnosing and resolving performance issues, and optimizing system architecture using various programming languages and tools.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
• Proven experience in performance engineering with strong skills in some of the programming languages
• Expertise in developing and managing performance testing frameworks and pipelines
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture and environments, with primary experience in AWS and bare metal
• Proficiency in performance testing tools and methodologies

Responsibilities

• Establish and manage a continuous performance testing pipeline
• Design and maintain tools to simulate realistic user loads on Connexa’s services
• Implement fault injection, latency testing, and other chaos engineering techniques
• Conduct both horizontal and vertical scalability testing
• Collaborate closely with multiple cross-functional teams
• Diagnose and resolve performance issues
• Develop and maintain performance testing scripts and tools
• Implement and use monitoring tools to track performance metrics

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana and Prometheus
• Deep networking experience, including a strong understanding of network protocols, network security, and traffic optimization techniques
