Senior Platform Engineer

Summary

Join Second Front Systems (2F) as a Senior Platform Engineer and lead technical efforts to deploy the DevSecOps platform (Game Warden) onto multi-cloud fabrics. You will architect, implement, and operate the cloud-native platform for SaaS offerings to the national security ecosystem. Responsibilities include research, experimentation, development, building, testing, validating, and operating Game Warden according to Department of Defense and Intelligence Community standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and government interlocutors, ensuring secure cloud-based resources for research and development. The role demands establishing benchmarks, prioritizing efforts, and documenting new solutions. This position requires U.S. citizenship and a Top Secret/SCI security clearance is highly desired.

Requirements

• Architect-level experience designing, implementing, and operating cloud-based infrastructure
• Deep expertise and experience with containerization
• In-depth experience with Kubernetes (K8s) and cloud service providers such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC), specifically design, management, and updating IaC with tools such as Pulumi in Golang and crossplane
• Ability to develop, optimize, and debug code
• Ability to design, build, and implement microservices in Golang or rust
• Ability to implement, modify, and maintain CI/CD pipelines
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to understand technical concepts
• Strong commitment to documenting applications and process you create
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Expertise with DevSecOps principles, components, and cloud computing providers and services
• Familiarity with Gitlab, Google Workspaces, Slack
• Top Secret/SCI security clearance
• Availability to travel up to 25 percent of the time

Responsibilities

• Architect, improve, implement, and operate our cloud native platform for deploying software as a service offerings to the national security ecosystem
• Be central to the research, experimentation, and development needed to deliver our Platform platform ( Game Warden ) onto classified fabrics
• As part of a cross functional team, build, test, validate, and operate Game Warden in accordance with the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community security and compliance standards
• Work cross functionally on both well defined topics and on areas you identify as needing research and development
• Work closely with government interlocutors to understand, provision, and secure cloud-based resources in support of research and development efforts to get Game Warden deployed on classified networks
• Gain a level of DoD 8570 compliance
• Establish benchmarks, outline key activities, and prioritize efforts across multiple initiatives and programs
• Develop and document new solutions, working independently, and contributing to a culture of diversity, innovation, and excellence

Preferred Qualifications

• 5-7 years of relevant experience

• Certified one of AWS/GCP/Azure Solutions Architect
• Experience in systems administration, systems or software engineering, and/ or computer science
• DoD 8570 compliance
