Summary
Join SilverRail, a global leader in reshaping rail travel, as a Senior Platform Engineer. You will be part of a team designing, building, and operating a cloud-native SaaS platform using industry-leading tools and practices. This role involves managing service reliability, developing automation systems, and designing cloud environments. You will contribute to all aspects of the evolving infrastructure and platform, working with cross-functional teams to optimize processes. Requirements
- Hands on experience in operations engineer, DevOps, SRE, sysadmin role or academic knowledge
- 3-5 years of industry experience in an Infrastructure function, including exposure to Public Cloud services
- Knowledge of Linux based operating systems
- Experience in programming practices and Software Development Life Cycle models
- Experience in a common programming language or scripting language (python, ruby, bash, etc)
- Experience with Infrastructure as code concepts and languages, Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM etc
- Knowledge of Git and Git based workflows such as GitOps
- Advocate of software best practices and Agile SDLC
Responsibilities
- Contribute to building and enhancing every aspect of SilverRail’s evolving infrastructure and platform as a service
- Support internal and external customers, and build on key cloud technologies
- Manage service reliability functions such as monitoring & alerting solutions, latency & load performance, uptime, and error budgets
- Develop, maintain, and utilise SilverRail’s deployment automation, configuration management, and orchestration systems
- Design, build, and manage SilverRail’s cloud environments and associated technologies
- Own the deployment process to ensure streamlined, zero-downtime, and orchestrated service delivery
- Work with cross functional teams to optimise processes, application development, and customer support
- On-call responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Container technologies and platforms such as Kubernetes (AKS/EKS/GKE/Rancher/Openshift/Anthos) would be beneficial
- Software development experience is highly valued
