Senior PowerBuilder Developer

Summary

Join our team as a Senior PowerBuilder Developer and contribute to enhancing and maintaining a mission-critical application used to track work, materials, and payments on construction projects. This 12-month engagement involves resolving a Java upgrade issue in a Red Hat Linux server environment, making minor logic changes to Java interfaces, and replacing outdated spreadsheet formats with PowerBuilder 10.0 data windows. You will also analyze, design, code, test, and implement bug fixes and functional enhancements to the system and its interfaces. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in PowerBuilder, Java, SQL, and Microsoft Suite, along with strong analytical and communication skills. Experience with SharePoint, web-based solutions, C#, C++, and .NET is highly desired.

Requirements

• Work as a PowerBuilder developer using PB10 or more recent versions
• Have 10 years of development experience in Java, particularly solving library and compatibility issues between versions
• Possess strong SQL skills (HiCAMS uses a Sybase database but SQL skills in any database platform are acceptable)
• Have strong Microsoft Suite experience, particularly Excel
• Have 5 years of experience working in a remote software development environment
• Possess strong analytical, conceptual, and technical skills
• Have positive interpersonal skills coupled with an independent, self-motivated work ethic
• Be able to work with a custom base-class
• Have proven written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain business processes to IT users and IT applications to business users
