Senior Product Manager

Summary

Join HashiCorp as a Product Manager (P4) for HCP Waypoint, a platform enabling platform teams to define golden patterns and workflows for developers. You will craft the product story, own and improve platform strategy documents, prioritize the product roadmap, and conduct user research. Responsibilities include creating PRFAQs and PRDs, working with engineering on acceptance criteria, communicating product status, and contributing to sales and marketing collateral. This role requires 8+ years of product management experience with developer-facing products, 1+ year of experience with IDPs, Terraform, and cloud providers, and strong user and market research skills. The ideal candidate possesses robust technical acumen and excellent communication skills. The position is remote within the US.

Requirements

• 8+ years of product management experience with developer-facing products
• 1+ years of experience with internal developer platforms or portals (IDPs), Terraform, and one or more large cloud providers
• Comprehension with coding practices in modern programming languages like Java, Golang, Node, Ruby etc
• Strong user and market research skills
• Ability to organize multiple stakeholders towards a common goal
• Analytical with the ability to prioritize and make tradeoffs
• Robust technical acumen, with a solid knowledge of infrastructure, and developer tooling
• Comfortable talking to developers and platform engineers to work on product discovery

Responsibilities

• Craft the product story by recognizing the landscape, user needs, and HashiCorp principles
• Own and improve HCP Waypoint platform strategy documents to set the context for the product roadmap
• Prioritize the product roadmap by taking feedback from Waypoint customers, ecosystem partners, engineering, marketing, and the HashiCorp vision
• Conduct user research and write Press Release/Frequently Asked Questions (PRFAQs), Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) to distill the research into requirements for engineering to deliver
• Work closely with engineering to write acceptance criteria for features and answer any questions they may have during implementation
• Communicate product status to all partners and stakeholders. Keep sales and marketing updated on feature releases and keep engineering informed on feature requests
• Help with sales and marketing collateral to educate on the product story and features (Website copy, whitepapers, sales decks, FAQs, etc)
