Senior Python Engineer

Summary

The job is for a Software Engineer at Multiverse, a company that provides apprenticeships to close skill gaps in the workforce. The role involves building and improving their Learning Management System (Ariel) using Python and React, as well as other technologies like Elixir, Phoenix, Postgres, LiveView, Elm, Docker, Terraform & AWS.

Requirements

• Be an experienced full stack engineer with a solid understanding of software development principles and practices
• Have experience building commercial web applications using Python and React
• Have worked with TypeScript, Django, GraphQL, Postgres, or similar related technologies
• Be well versed in the fundamentals and pro’s & con’s of both monolithic and microservice architectures (we are moving from mono to micro)
• Care about building reliable, accessible and well-tested systems for the web
• Have an appreciation for simple, maintainable design
• Take a collaborative approach to problem solving
• Thrive in a culture of knowledge-sharing and peer review
• Enjoy mentoring and supporting the development of your colleagues - and you’re excited about working with our Software Engineering apprentices

Responsibilities

Help answer meaningful questions such as how to provide the best possible experience to apprentices through their bespoke learning management system, how to support apprentices in consolidating their learning, showcasing their new skills, and opening doors in their career, etc
