Summary
Join AtkinsRéalis as a Senior Quantity Surveyor (Pre-Contract) in Riyadh, KSA. This role requires extensive Middle East experience and expertise in pre-contract cost planning and procurement for major infrastructure projects. You will lead the preparation of cost estimates, cost plans, and benchmarking, develop and manage Bills of Quantities, and support procurement strategies. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and engagement with the supply chain are key aspects of the position. The ideal candidate will have MRICS or MRICS APC enrolment and at least 10 years of experience. Proficiency in CESSM and cost planning software is required.
Requirements
- MRICS APC enrolment as minimum, MRICS preference
- Minimum 10 years of experience, Middle East experience preferred but not essential
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Possess good project background and proven English language technical writing ability and skills
- Strong background in pre-contract quantity surveying for infrastructure and civil engineering projects including masterplanning, preference for major international events experience (e.g. expos, sports events, cultural festivals)
- Proficient in CESSM, cost planning software Cost X or similar is required
- Familiarity with FIDIC and other standard forms of contract
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, client-facing environment
Responsibilities
- Lead the preparation of pre-contract cost estimates, cost plans, and benchmarking for large-scale infrastructure projects
- Develop and manage Bills of Quantities (BoQs) and pre-tender estimates using CESSM and other industry standards
- Support the development of procurement strategies, including packaging, tendering, and contract formation
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment between design intent and cost objectives
- Prepare and review tender documentation, including pricing schedules and contract conditions
- Conduct market analysis and engage with supply chain to inform cost data and procurement planning
- Assisting in risk and value management and cost control functions
- Assisting in identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks
- Attendance and representation at commercial meetings
