Join Fullscript's talented team as a Senior React Native Engineer and play a crucial role in shaping the technical direction and architecture of our e-commerce mobile application. You will collaborate with the Technical Lead and product team to address the challenges of a rapidly growing platform. This remote position, based in BC, AB, MB, ON, or NS, offers the opportunity to work within a specialized mobile engineering team. You will implement high-quality mobile app features, contribute to code reviews, and mentor other developers. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in software development with a focus on mobile applications using either React Native directly or Expo
  • Proven experience in releasing stable mobile applications, with an awareness of how it’s different from shipping for the web
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other engineers and cross-functional teams to achieve company goals
  • Experience with focusing on mobile UI/UX best practices, performance optimization, mobile-specific security considerations, or working directly with native platform APIs & IDEs
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing technical challenges
  • Passion for staying updated with the latest mobile app development trends and a drive to continuously improve engineering practices

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Technical Lead and other team members to plan and architect mobile app projects, contributing to design discussions and decisions
  • Implement and deliver high-quality mobile app features and enhancements using Expo, React Native, Typescript, and React
  • Work as part of our only mobile-focused "pod," a small team of specialist engineers, that stewards various aspects of our native app infrastructure, workflows & core features
  • Contribute to the technical health of the mobile application by adhering to engineering best practices and participating in code reviews
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest mobile app development trends and technologies, incorporating them into the project when appropriate
  • Assist in mentoring and guiding other developers from other pods making mobile contributions, fostering a culture of growth and high psychological safety within the team
