Requirements
Master's degree in research, Public Health, Sociology, I/O Psychology, Environmental Health & Safety, or a similar field and at least 6 years of relevant experience conducting searches and analysis of published scientific literature, using online tools and in-print materials to identify sources of scientific information. OR Bachelor's degree in research, Public Health, Sociology, I/O Psychology, Environmental Health & Safety, or similar field and at least 8 years of relevant experience conducting searches and analysis of published scientific literature, using online tools and in-print materials to identify sources of scientific information
Responsibilities
- Conduct scientifically rigorous research in a specialized area under the direction of the program leader
- Perform systematic reviews of scientific literature on specific topics
- Design and conduct applied experimental, quasi-experimental, and other quantitative and qualitative research
- Gather, analyze, and interpret study data
- Draft research study reports or summaries of findings
- Submit research to peer-reviewed publications and other research outlets
- Present at conferences or related events
- Participate in reviews of scientific literature on various safety topics
- Use various presentation formats to share information about published research with internal and external audiences
- Develop various data collection tools such as survey questionnaires, interview guides, or focus group moderator guides
- Apply research techniques to validate and pilot data collection tools
- Perform data collection, transfer, storage, cleanup, coding, validation, and other data management functions
- Under supervision, apply statistical techniques to conduct analysis of quantitative data
- Perform analysis of qualitative data
- Assist in identifying opportunities for future research and research funding
- Support the preparation and submission of proposals for funding
- Collaborate with internal program owners to implement and execute impact measurement methodologies
- Maintain and identify improvement opportunities for NSCβs internal impact measurement tracking system
- Analyze program quantitative and qualitative data
- Assist in the development of evaluation reports
- Prepare presentations and reports to inform various audiences on all aspects of program process and results
Preferred Qualifications
- Masterβs degree preferred
- Professional experience in applied research, program evaluation, policy evaluation, public health and safety, not-for-profit organizations
- Familiarity with program evaluation methodology
