Senior Revenue/AR Accountant

Summary

Join Komodo Health's Accounting team as a Senior Revenue/AR Accountant and play a pivotal role in scaling the revenue team's capabilities to support the company's rapid growth. You will take ownership of key responsibilities related to AR and revenue accounting processes, ensuring ASC 606 compliance and operational excellence. This role involves 70% revenue recognition and 30% account receivable analysis. Within your first year, you will improve revenue transaction processing and reporting timelines, perform reconciliations, maintain the revenue waterfall, and support automation. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or quantitative field
• 3-5 years experience with Revenue Accounting and ASC 606 application in a fast paced environment
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• Good organizational skills with the ability to execute with accuracy and efficiency
• Ability to interact with departments providing revenue evidence to accounting team
• A team player, adept at building relationships across the organization
• Ability to adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced environment without losing sight of accuracy

Responsibilities

• Prepare deal checklists in accordance with ASC 606 and company’s internal policies
• Assist management with the assessment and documentation for complex revenue transactions
• Help with preparation of the manual revenue waterfall on the ongoing basis
• Assist in preparation of updates on AR metrics, collection status, and key issues impacting cash flow
• Work with teams to automate process and establish traceable and auditable evidence for revenue recognition and applicable reporting
• Take part in monthly revenue close procedures on an ad hoc basis, including preparation of revenue and deferred revenue related journal entries, reconciliations and other close tasks as directed
• Work with business partners to initiate and implement process improvements to the quote-to-cash process to increase operational efficiencies
• Perform revenue system UAT (User Acceptance Testing). Validate data and reports for accuracy and completeness

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with financial systems, specifically NetSuite and NetSuite ARM
• Familiarity with Salesforce
• Experience with Software and/or SaaS space
