Summary
Join Kraus Hamdani Aerospace (KHA) as a RF Design and Analysis Engineer to support the development of in-service products and development programs for unmanned aerial platforms. The successful candidate will lead the selection and optimization of RF systems and components, develop and implement RF system architectures, perform RF integration and testing, and conduct thorough EMI/EMC testing and mitigation.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in RF engineering, with a focus on unmanned aircraft systems or similar applications
- Proven track record of designing and implementing RF systems, including antennas, coax cables, filters, datalinks, and amplifiers
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s or Ph.D. is preferred
Responsibilities
- Lead the selection and optimization of RF systems and components, including antennas, coax cables, filters, datalinks, and amplifiers
- Develop and implement RF system architectures that meet performance, size, weight, and power (SWaP) requirements for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS)
- Perform RF integration and testing for payloads on unmanned aircraft, ensuring compatibility and optimal performance
- Conduct thorough EMI/EMC testing and mitigation to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Address and resolve RF-related issues, including line of sight, signal interference, and other performance-impacting factors
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for any RF system failures or performance degradations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineering, mechanical engineering, software engineering, and product management, to ensure cohesive product development
- Provide technical support and guidance on RF-related matters to other engineering teams and stakeholders
- Develop and maintain detailed documentation of RF designs, test plans, and test results
- Ensure that all RF designs and implementations comply with relevant industry standards and best practices
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in RF technology and industry best practices
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve RF system performance and reliability
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience on aircraft or UAS programs
- Experience with military radio standards and technologies
- Experience with flight trials
