Requirements

  • Bachelorโ€™s or Masterโ€™s degree in Civil Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE)
  • 15+ years of experience in roadway design
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work individually or as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Work on a variety of DOT and/or LPA roadway/highway design projects
  • Work on multiple projects of moderate size or portions of major projects
  • Independently apply extensive knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments
  • Assist upper-level management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor
  • Provide mentorship to junior level engineers and design staff
  • Review complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance
  • Ensure project designs are in conformance with the latest design specifications
  • Perform design quantity computations and checks
  • Produce drawings in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
  • Prepare proposals or funding applications
  • Acquire general knowledge of practices in related fields and function as a part of multidisciplinary teams
  • Perform other duties associated with the position
