Senior Ruby Developer

Summary

Join Encora as a Senior Ruby Engineer and be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead technical projects, mentor junior engineers, and improve software development practices. This remote position is located in Peru, Colombia, Bolivia, or Costa Rica. The role requires extensive software development experience with a focus on building scalable applications, proficiency in Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, and other specified technologies, and a Bachelor's degree in a related field. You will be involved in architecture design and code reviews. The ideal candidate will have experience with Typescript.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field
• Possess extensive experience in software development with a focus on designing and building scalable applications
• Have professional/advanced English skills
• Have +5 years of experience
• Be proficient in Ruby on Rails – API level, not microservice level but monolithic level
• Be proficient in JavaScript
• Be proficient in VueJS or React
• Be proficient in MySQL
• Be proficient in Redis

Responsibilities

• Design the overall architecture of applications, ensuring they are scalable, maintainable, and efficient
• Conduct code reviews for junior and mid-level developers, ensuring that coding standards, best practices, and performance considerations are followed
• Guide and mentor less experienced developers, helping them grow their skills in Ruby, development practices, and overall problem-solving
