Senior Rust Protocol Engineer

Summary

The job is for a Senior Rust Developer to lead Madara development, build the Karnot CLI tool, architect the proof aggregation service for Madara app chains, and generally raise the bar of protocol engineering. The role requires 4+ years of experience in backend or protocol engineering systems, deep understanding of Rust's core language concepts, experience with multi-threaded and asynchronous programming models, familiarity with memory management and performance optimization techniques, experience with build systems, continuous integration, and deployment pipelines, and experience in systems programming, concurrency, and low-level programming. Bonus points for involvement in the web3 ecosystem, working with Substrate framework, Rust CLI tools, or Starknet. The role can be based in Gurgaon, India (preferred) or remotely. Requirements

• 4+ years of work experience in backend or protocol engineering systems
• Experience building and maintaining large-scale, high-performance applications or systems software in Rust
• Deep understanding of Rust's ownership model, borrowing, lifetimes, traits, and other core language concepts
• Experience with multi-threaded and asynchronous programming models
• Familiarity with memory management and performance optimization techniques
• Experience with build systems, continuous integration, and deployment pipelines
• Experience in systems programming, concurrency, and low-level programming

Responsibilities

• Lead Madara development
• Develop robust pipelines for DA, proving and verification
• Ensure compatibility with Starknet tooling and optimize Madara performance
• Build the Karnot CLI tool
• Architect the proof aggregation service for Madara app chains
