You will architect and automate the deployment of endpoint and network security tools, develop and maintain configuration and infrastructure management scripts using Ansible, and design custom automation tools. Collaboration with partner teams, troubleshooting automation issues, mentoring junior engineers, and staying current with advancements in security automation are also key responsibilities. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in security engineering or automation-focused DevSecOps roles
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a creative, solution-oriented mindset
  • Excellent analytical thinking and cross-functional communication abilities
  • Self-starter attitude with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated mentorship or leadership experience within technical teams
  • Advanced Ansible proficiency for managing infrastructure at scale
  • Proficient in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, PowerShell, or Bash)
  • Experience with Git, GitHub, and modern CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions)
  • Familiarity with VMware, vSphere, and other virtualization platforms
  • Strong understanding of networking protocols, the OSI model, and common security architectures
  • Experience automating security hardening, monitoring, and remediation in containerized environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Prior experience in MSP/MSSP or network engineering roles with automation of infrastructure and security workflows
  • Expertise in automating deployment and configuration of security tools, including: SIEM platforms - EDR/XDR tools
  • Firewalls & IDS/IPS

Responsibilities

  • Architect and automate the deployment of endpoint and network security tools in virtualized and containerized environments
  • Develop and maintain configuration and infrastructure management scripts using Ansible
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities across the security stack to deliver scalable, reliable solutions
  • Design and develop custom automation tools and integrations that streamline security tool deployment and lifecycle management
  • Collaborate with partner teams to deliver secure, automated solutions that meet infrastructure and security requirements
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex automation and integration issues in virtualized and containerized environments
  • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, hands-on guidance, and knowledge sharing
  • Stay current with advancements in security automation frameworks and emerging technologies
  • Create and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation for automation workflows, tools, and architectural decisions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Background in roles such as SOC analyst, incident responder, or digital forensics analyst
  • Experience with cloud security automation in platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP
  • Contributions to open-source security projects or security tool integrations
  • Industry certifications such as: GIAC (e.g., GCIA, GCIH, GPEN)
  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or similar
