Summary

Join GoDaddy's Product Security group as a Security Engineer, contributing to a remote team focused on large-scale security challenges. You will identify and remediate security threats, collaborate with development teams, build security processes, and promote secure development strategies. This role requires extensive experience in security engineering, threat modeling, secure code review, and system design. The ideal candidate possesses strong communication skills and expertise in multiple security domains. Requirements

  • Problem-solver with excellent communication skills, a deep technical understanding of security engineering
  • Threat modeling complex software services
  • Secure code review
  • Experience in system design and software and infrastructure solutions
  • Experience in Secure Development Lifecycle and Shift Left with a Security by Design methodology
  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive security engineering experience with expertise in multiple security domains included but not limited to Security Architecture, Cryptography, Network Security, Cloud Security, Mobile Security, and Web Security
  • Scripting/development skills (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, Ruby, or PowerShell)
  • Experience applying security engineering best practices that align with security and privacy compliance requirements

Responsibilities

  • Identify security threats and vulnerabilities in applications and infrastructure and provide remediation guidance to system owners
  • Join forces with SRE and development teams to find new and creative ways to reduce the occurrence of vulnerabilities at scale
  • Build repeatable and reusable security processes and frameworks
  • Promote secure by design and secure by default development strategies
  • Review quality issues and work towards detecting security flaws both obvious and discrete
  • Assist with scoping prospective projects, participating in projects from kickoff through โ€œdefinition of doneโ€ via end-to-end ownership
  • Use your industry experience to own and drive resolution and retesting of complex security events, policy questions and technical security risks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Hosting Industry and/or Cloud Experience
  • Hardware
