Summary

Join Core Scientific, a company powering and securing the next global financial system, as a Sr. Site Reliability Engineer. You will be responsible for defining and interpreting product/system requirements, building and deploying code across various infrastructures, writing documentation, and driving secure infrastructure practices. This role requires 5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering, strong analytical and communication skills, and expertise in various tools and technologies. The position is full-time and remote, with occasional travel for team-building activities. You will be part of an on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience in SRE, DevOps, and/or Infrastructure Engineering
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; team player
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to define, capture, interpret product/system requirements
  • Strong experience using Infrastructure as Code, Configuration Management, & Orchestration tools – we use mostly Terraform, Helm, Kustomize, and Ansible
  • Strong understanding of cloud environments – we use AWS, but experience in other clouds is also a plus
  • Strong experience with Kubernetes and virtualization
  • Strong experience with build and release management – we primarily use Github Actions, makefiles, and Python scripts
  • Strong experience with telemetry – metrics, logs, traces, writing monitors
  • Intermediate scripting ability (Bash, Python, Make)
  • Basic networking knowledge; OSI model, TCP/UDP, DHCP, DNS, routing, and HTTP

Responsibilities

  • Define, capture, and interpret product/system requirements
  • Build, integrate, test, monitor and deploy code across cloud and on-premises infrastructure
  • Write plans, coordinate, and deploy applications via automation
  • Write documentation to share knowledge with the team
  • Drive secure, immutable infrastructure through infrastructure as code, thoughtful security practices and common orchestration tools
  • Drive best practices across the Site Reliability Engineering team
  • Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization
  • Perform other duties as assigned
