Summary

Join Vidyard's Developer Platform team as a Senior Software Developer to simplify and enhance the day-to-day experience of our developers, working closely with an awesome team of developers and a product manager.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in software development and a strong understanding of cloud development environments and CI/CD practices
  • Experience using tools like GitHub Actions and other CI integration tools (e.g., Merge Queue, code coverage, etc.)
  • Developer Experience Advocate: Craft tools that resonate with engineers, focusing on simplicity, supportability, ease-of-use
  • Decisive in Ambiguity: Comfortable making decisions in uncertain situations, knowing that action often leads to answers
  • Collaboration Across Teams: Work closely with product teams to build a robust infrastructure that aligns with business needs and developer requirements
  • Quality Leader: Driven to uplift our standards in quality, reliability, and performance
  • Lean & Experimental: Metrics-driven approach and love to experiment
  • Mentor & Guide: Sharing knowledge and mentoring team members is second nature
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify and address pain points in the developer workflow, implementing effective solutions
  • Feedback-Driven Approach: Eagerness to learn from developer feedback through surveys and interviews, and apply these insights to drive improvements

Responsibilities

  • Implement platform tools, automate processes, maximize uptime, and maintain a Kubernetes-based cloud development environment
  • Enhance the technical expertise of fellow engineers on the team and provide insightful, thorough code reviews
  • Identify opportunities to introduce new workflows or tooling to enhance the developer experience
  • In partnership with the team, implement an observability solution and best practices for Logging, Metrics, and Tracing
  • Create and run enablement sessions to empower developers. Improve and maintain comprehensive documentation to facilitate easier onboarding and efficient processes
  • Participate in a rotation program to support developers with questions and issues related to internal tools, ensuring smooth operations
