Summary

The job is for an engineer on Nuna's Rewards ML/AI team to craft an innovative mobile experience that redefines health and wellness. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, designing and implementing scalable backend systems, optimizing AI algorithms, integrating machine learning models, conducting thorough testing, staying updated with industry trends, and mentoring junior engineers. Remote work is allowed but preference is given to candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area and Seattle Metro Area.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with a recent focus on backend development and scaling and testing of LLM | RAG | generative AI technologies
• Extensive experience in designing, developing, and deploying scalable backend systems and APIs using modern programming languages such as Kotlin, Python, Java, Go or equivalent
• Proficiency in working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure, and leveraging cloud-based services for deploying and managing backend infrastructure
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and drive innovation
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Responsibilities

• Craft an innovative mobile experience that redefines health and wellness
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, designers, front-end engineers, and data scientists
• Design, architect, and implement scalable backend systems and APIs that support AI-powered functionality
• Optimize AI algorithms and models for efficiency, accuracy, scalability, and safety
• Integrate machine learning models, algorithms, and data pipelines into the backend infrastructure to enable intelligent decision-making and personalized user experiences
• Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and performance tuning of backend systems
• Stay abreast of industry trends, advancements, and emerging technologies in AI, machine learning, and backend development

Preferred Qualifications

• Solid understanding of machine learning concepts, algorithms, and techniques
• Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Previous experience in the consumer mobile app industry or related domains
• Contributions to open-source projects or active participation in tech communities and forums
