Senior Software Engineer

Summary

Join Artera's Engineering department as a Senior Software Engineer and contribute to the development of core messaging features for our patient communication platform. You will be a key player in building intuitive, real-time front-end applications using React and modern development practices. This role requires 5+ years of experience with TypeScript and React, along with expertise in cloud-based applications and Agile methodologies. Requirements

• 5+ years of professional expertise in TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks such as React
• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field preferred (equivalent experience in lieu of a degree is welcome)
• Experience building, deploying and maintaining cloud-based applications in production, including micro frontends (MFEs)
• Strong knowledge of RESTful web services and real-time, event-driven architecture
• Demonstrated ability to deliver complex projects with cross-functional collaboration
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to deconstruct tasks and anticipate risks
• Effective communication skills, with a proactive approach to collaboration and seeking help
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain front-end features for core messaging and staff communication functionalities, ensuring real-time performance and reliability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable solutions and deliver high-quality features
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives, as a Senior Engineer
• Break down complex tasks into manageable work items, identify dependencies, and mitigate risks
• Implement robust, cloud-based front-end applications with React and modern development practices
• Debug and optimize performance for real-time events, latency, and state management
• Lead by example in coding practices, project ownership, and proactive problem-solving
• Contribute to on-call rotations to ensure the reliability of our systems
• Mentor and collaborate with team members to elevate technical standards and achieve project goals

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with real-time events (e.g. Server Sent Events), Front-end state management, TanStack
• Background in building high-traffic, real-time collaboration software
• Experience with AWS
• Knowledge of healthcare technology and its unique challenges
