Senior Software Engineer

Summary

Join Corelight, a rapidly growing cybersecurity company, as a Systems Software Engineer on the Platform Team. You will maintain, optimize, and evolve the software platform supporting the Corelight Open NDR appliance, contributing to both existing products and next-generation cloud-native development using Kubernetes and Docker. This role requires extensive Linux systems software development, networking knowledge, and experience with Python, C/C++, and bash. The ideal candidate will also possess experience with Docker and Kubernetes, virtual machine environments, and modern packet capture pipelines. Requirements

• Demonstrate a strong appreciation and support for Corelight's core values: low ego results, tireless service, and applied curiosity
• Have experience programming in Python, C/C++, and bash
• Possess extensive experience with Linux systems software development
• Have extensive networking knowledge and experience
• Have experience developing automated tests
• Have experience with standard, open-source build systems (e.g., Make, CMake, autotools)
• Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or have equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Maintain the existing Corelight Open NDR appliance software platform
• Optimize the Corelight Open NDR appliance software platform
• Evolve the Corelight Open NDR appliance software platform
• Work with other teams to build next-generation cloud-native products using Kubernetes and Docker

Preferred Qualifications

• Have experience with Docker and Kubernetes
• Have experience with virtual machine environments, possibly including AWS EC2 and VMWare
• Have experience with modern packet capture pipelines (e.g., AF_PACKET, DPDK, netmap)
• Have network security experience
• Have cloud-native development experience
• Have contributions to open source projects
