Summary

Join Cylinder, a virtual health platform focused on digestive health, as a Software Engineer. You will contribute to the backend development of our platform and various data integrations, collaborating closely with our Data Science team. Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience building and implementing backend systems and supporting SaaS solutions
  • Proficiency with Golang and developing containerized workloads
  • Experience analyzing and optimizing system performance
  • Passion for automated testing
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Be a team player, collaborating closely with other engineers
  • Demonstrate empathy for members’ GI health conditions and a drive to improve their outcomes
  • Maintain a security-oriented approach to protecting customer healthcare data
  • Be comfortable with a distributed workforce and virtual collaboration
  • Be a self-motivated, creative problem solver

Responsibilities

  • Develop software with comprehensive documentation, test coverage, logging, and metrics
  • Collaborate with the engineering team on design, planning, and code reviews
  • Partner with product stakeholders on ideation, feedback, and solution refinement
  • Continuously learn and adapt

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) frameworks (GKE, IAM, Firebase, Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Cloud Composer, BigQuery, AI Platform, DLP)
  • Experience with medical, healthcare, and/or population health data; familiarity with OHDSI, FHIR, or other healthcare data standards
  • Experience working in a HIPAA regulated environment and supporting data security and privacy controls
