Requirements

  • 7+ years of proven progressive experience as a Software Engineer
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
  • Flexibility with Agile software development methodologies
  • Familiarity with various design and architectural patterns
  • Experience with Struts, Hibernate, JQuery, Apache, Tomcat, and MySQL is essential
  • Expert knowledge of Java and other Object Oriented languages
  • Basic understanding of JVM, its limitations, weaknesses and workarounds
  • Implementing automated testing platforms and unit tests
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as SVN, Git
  • Solid experience with security best practices (i.e.: reCAPTHA, OAuth, OWASP Top 10)
  • Familiarity with containerization
  • Proven understanding of AWS technologies
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize in an environment with changing demands
  • Experience in Micro-Services architectures and API creation
  • Ability to understand and think like the consumers of our product

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with developers, business analysts, designers, and other team members
  • Develop and implement moderate to complex web applications on one or more platforms
  • Translate application storyboards and use cases into functional web applications/tools
  • Ensure the best possible performance, quality and responsiveness of the applications
  • Identify bottlenecks and bugs and devise solutions to these problems
  • Help maintain code quality, organization and automation
  • Improve operations by conducting systems analysis and recommending changes in procedures
  • Participate actively in the Agile process as an engaged team member
  • Ensure software is up-to-date with the latest technologies
