Senior Software Engineer

Summary

Join Funding Societies | Modalku, Southeast Asia's largest SME digital financing platform, as a Backend Engineer. You will design, develop, and maintain scalable systems for our lending and neobanking platform, working with product managers and cross-functional teams. This fully remote position, available across all Indonesian cities, requires at least 4 years of backend engineering experience with proficiency in Golang and Node.js. You will build features expanding our capabilities, ensuring code quality through testing, and participating in tech support and migrations. Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience as a backend engineer
• Proficiency in Golang and Nodejs
• Solid experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, and MySQL
• Experience in writing unit tests and integration tests
• Familiar with microservices architecture and cloud services such as AWS, GCP, and Azure
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Having experience with Continuous Integration systems e.g. CircleCI, AWS CodeBuild, Jenkins, and GitLab
• Have a high level of attention to details
• Have good analytical skills with problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
• Experience in Agile development methodologies

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable and highly available systems to empower our fintech platform
• Work with product managers and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and develop solutions
• Write clean, reusable, and maintainable code using GoLang and Nodejs
• Ensure the quality of the code by writing unit tests and integration tests
• Be on rotational tech support, debug and resolve production issues, and take part in blameless postmortems
• Plan and execute smooth migrations to new technology as a way of managing technical debt
• Build tools and automation for our business and operations teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Have a track record of shipping software in a distributed systems environment
• Are enthusiastic about collaborating across departments to solve challenging problems
• Are pragmatic about the need to release less-than-perfect software and continuously iterate on it
• Can identify and articulate trade-offs in software and data design
• Can communicate both technical and business requirements fluently
• Are excited about both learning new things and teaching others
• NoSQL experience will be a plus
