Senior Software Engineer

Summary

Join Grafana Labs as a Senior Software Engineer and contribute to the development and maintenance of Grafana Alloy, an open-source OpenTelemetry Collector distribution. This remote position, open to Canadian residents (excluding Quebec), involves collaborating with a team to deliver new features, contribute to design documents, and actively participate in the OpenTelemetry community. You will support customers, integrate Alloy with other Grafana solutions, and participate in on-call rotations. The ideal candidate possesses a passion for observability, excellent communication skills, relevant open-source experience (ideally in OpenTelemetry or Prometheus), and a strong understanding of production environments. Requirements

• Have a passion for observability and like to share your knowledge by writing documentation and blog posts
• Love to engage with customers and help them out
• Have excellent communication skills
• Have relevant open source experience, ideally in OpenTelemetry or Prometheus
• Be willing to become an active member of the OpenTelemetry community
• Have a good understanding of production environments

Responsibilities

• Work with the Alloy team to deliver new functionality
• Contribute to and review design documents for upcoming features
• Be an active member of the OpenTelemetry collector community
• Be familiar with the Prometheus ecosystem and make sure that Alloy integrates well with Prometheus components
• Support customers and prospects with setting up their observability pipelines
• Work with other teams within Grafana to make sure Alloy works well with the solutions they are building
• Participate in on-call rotations for our deployments

Preferred Qualifications

Have been responsible for operating production infrastructure and services, and organizing on-call
