Senior Software Engineer

Summary

Join InfluxData's Telegraf engineering team as a Senior Software Engineer! Develop and maintain our open-source data collection agent used on millions of machines globally. You will design and implement new features in Golang, collaborate with the open-source community, and troubleshoot issues. Requirements

• 5+ years of professional engineering experience building and shipping production software
• Self motivation and a drive to get things “done”, working independently but closely integrated with the rest of the team
• Demonstrated proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g. Golang, Rust, C/C++ or Python)
• Working knowledge of Git (and GitHub) and related workflows
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

Responsibilities

• Work with the Open Source community to improve Telegraf
• Design and implement new features of Telegraf as a team
• Effectively troubleshoot issues and address bugs
• Communicate in writing and develop publicly with the Telegraf community

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in programming with Golang
• Experience in contributing to or maintaining open-source projects
• Knowledge of industry-standard communication protocols
• Experience in monitoring networks and devices
