Summary

Kiddom is seeking a Backend Engineer to design and build scalable API integrations for their educational platform. The ideal candidate should have a degree in Computer Science or a related field, 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, and expertise in REST APIs, authorization technologies, and continuous integration tools. Additional skills such as experience with educational technologies, React/Redux, Go(lang), Cassandra, Elasticsearch, AWS, and Terraform are beneficial but not mandatory. Requirements

  • BS or MS in Computer Science or a related field
  • 5+ years professional software engineering experience
  • Experience designing and building REST APIs
  • Exposure to authorization technologies (OAuth)
  • Strong knowledge of design patterns and software engineering best practices

Responsibilities

  • Design and build a scalable, generalized framework for third-party API integrations
  • Leverage existing infrastructure and components to build RESTful web services
  • Build APIs and robust testing environments for internal and external developers
  • Craft delightful user experiences
  • Own the product - we love people who pick up things and run with them

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with educational technologies
  • Experience or interest in education
  • Experience working at a startup
  • Experience with React/Redux
  • Experience with Go(lang)
  • Experience with Cassandra, Elasticsearch, and AWS (EC2, DynamoDB, SNS/SQS, Lambda)
  • Experience with Terraform
