Summary

Join Linus Health, a Boston-based digital health company, as a Senior Software Engineer on the Core Services team. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will collaborate on designing, documenting, and implementing architecture for mobile and web applications. This role involves leading projects, ensuring security and performance, establishing testing procedures, and managing tasks. The position requires extensive software development experience, expertise in various technologies (Node.js, TypeScript, Python, AWS), and strong communication skills. While the role can be 100% remote (with possible travel), candidates must be US-based. Sponsorship is not currently offered.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of software development(or similar)
  • Strong Computer Science fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures
  • Expertise in REST patterns and general API design, documentation, and testing including familiarity with tools like swagger and postman
  • Experience in building microservices
  • Experience in working with nodejs, typescript, and python
  • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g. jest, mocha, playwright)
  • Experience with CI/CD and integration with testing as well as git workflows like code reviews on merge requests
  • Experience writing and reviewing SQL
  • Experience with debugging and triaging issues and handling production support issues
  • Good communication skills with the ability to translate technical requirements into readable and maintainable code
  • Experience building on AWS offerings
  • Experience with agile methodologies
  • Experience in mentoring juniors or peers around good practices

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate design, document and implement architecture supporting mobile and web applications
  • Own and lead small to mid platform driven projects
  • Solve for and consider security, scalability, availability, and performance
  • Establish testing policies and procedures (unit, integration, and e2e)
  • Estimate work, prioritize tasks, track dependencies, report progress, highlight blockers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with building and supporting GQL APIs using best practices
  • Experience with React framework
  • Experience working in the healthcare industry or a regulated industry (HIPAA compliance, FDA, etc)
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies
