Senior Software Engineer

Summary

Join MongoDB's Database Experience (DBX) team as a fully remote PHP Engineer in EMEA! You'll collaborate with a team of three to enhance MongoDB's adoption within the PHP community. This role involves designing and developing features for the MongoDB Laravel Integration and the MongoDB Driver for PHP. You'll also support other teams in content creation and engage with the Laravel community. The ideal candidate possesses 5+ years of Laravel experience, significant PHP experience, and database expertise. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a leading open-source project and make a significant impact.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience working with the Laravel framework
• Significant experience working with PHP
• Experience with databases, relational or non-relational
• Experience with testing and static analysis
• Good written and spoken English communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design and develop features for the MongoDB Laravel Integration
• Build features for the MongoDB Driver for PHP to better support framework integrations
• Support our Developer Relations, Documentation, and Education teams in creating high-quality content for Laravel developers
• Seek out speaking and writing opportunities to engage with the Laravel Community

Preferred Qualifications

• Contributed to Laravel or a similar open source project
• Good knowledge of the internals of Eloquent
• Worked with MongoDB and the document model
• Have experience with tools in the Laravel ecosystem, like Telescope or Scout
