Summary

Join the Service AI Transformation team at Natera and design, build, and deliver scalable integrations and AI-powered workflows. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will leverage cloud-based foundation-model APIs and build AI transformation pipelines. You will also create tooling and dashboards, integrate event streams, and perform AI-focused testing. Collaborate with other teams and mentor junior engineers. This role requires 6+ years of professional software engineering experience and expertise in AWS serverless architectures and event-streaming patterns. Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience delivering production cloud services
  • Expertise in AWS serverless architectures and event‑streaming patterns ( Kafka )
  • Advanced proficiency with TypeScript/JavaScript , React/Next.js , and GraphQL
  • Practical experience with LangChain/Langraph , prompt engineering, and RAG methodologies
  • Strong foundation in CI/CD and Infrastructure‑as‑Code (CDK/Terraform)

Responsibilities

  • Design & build transformation workflows: Use AWS Lambda, Step Functions, S3, EventBridge, SNS/SQS, and Fargate , delivered through Infrastructure‑as‑Code (CDK or Terraform). Align with domain microservice boundaries, persisting state in our workflow registry only when necessary
  • Leverage cloud‑based foundation‑model APIs + LangChain/Langraph: Build AI transformation pipelines that orchestrate prompts, generate embeddings, and implement Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) patterns
  • Create tooling & dashboards: Develop internal UIs with React/Next.js backed by GraphQL APIs
  • Integrate event streams: Consume and publish Kafka topics to guarantee dependable, exactly‑once data movement between services
  • AI‑focused testing: Build prompt regression suites, hallucination detection, and evaluation harnesses alongside unit, integration, and load tests
  • Operational excellence: Automate CI/CD, security scanning, and deployments; instrument metrics, logs, and alerts with CloudWatch and Datadog
  • Partner with Product, Architecture, and Data Science to translate requirements into robust technical solutions
  • Mentor engineers through code reviews, design sessions, and knowledge sharing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in healthcare, genomics, or other regulated domains
  • Familiarity with vector search technologies and semantic similarity techniques
  • Knowledge of data privacy and compliance standards such as HIPAA
