Senior Software Engineer

Summary

The job is for a Senior Software Engineer specializing in backend technologies at a remote-first startup, NLX, based in NYC with team members across North America and Europe. The candidate will be responsible for designing and developing APIs, collaborating with other engineers, writing robust code, creating tests, and learning from the team. The candidate should have 5+ years of software engineering experience, strong command of JavaScript (Node.js), TypeScript, or Python, and 3+ years using AWS services.

Requirements

• 5 or more years experience working as a software engineer
• Strong command of JavaScript (Node.js), TypeScript, or Python
• Ability to write efficient and reusable code
• Effective software debugging skills
• Object-oriented design and common software design idioms
• 3+ years using AWS services such as CloudFormation, ECS, API Gateway, Lambda, and DynamoDB
• Demonstrate the ability to effectively and clearly communicate concepts, ideas, and knowledge to other individuals and teams
• You are a team player with a friendly, positive attitude. You are comfortable wearing multiple hats and have genuine willingness to help out where help is needed
• Humble, coachable, and eager to grow from feedback
• Resourceful, adaptable, able to find solutions and thrive in a rapidly evolving and fast-paced environment with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or higher
• GCP Associate Cloud Engineer or higher
