Senior Software Engineer

Summary

Join Samsara's BLE platform team as a Senior Software Engineer to build and own the BLE platform on our mobile products, Samsara Driver and Samsara Fleet. You will help shape the future of our mobile apps by architecting and implementing a BLE platform for Android and iOS. Work closely with the mobile team to improve application architecture and development processes, partner with firmware and backend engineers, and collaborate with full-stack engineers. Ensure a top-quality developer experience and mentor junior developers. This role requires 7+ years of relevant experience in mobile development and building BLE-enabled mobile applications. The position is open to US-based candidates (excluding the San Francisco Bay Area and NYC Metro Area). Relocation assistance is not provided.

Requirements

• 7+ years of relevant industry experience in mobile development for iOS and/or Android
• Has built and shipped high-quality production mobile applications using either native or React Native frameworks
• Professional experience building BLE-enabled mobile applications to interface with hardware products
• Experience building and using observability tools, frameworks, and standards
• Strong leadership skills driving projects and working cross-functionally
• Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive independent work
• Passion for exploring and experimenting with new technologies that improve our products for customers

Responsibilities

• Help shape the future of our mobile apps by architecting and implementing a BLE platform for Android and iOS that unlocks product features and delights our customers
• Work closely with the rest of the mobile team to improve our application architecture and development processes
• Partner with firmware and backend engineers on the design of the overall BLE architecture to ensure seamless integration with our hardware products
• Collaborate with full stack engineers to guide them through mobile-specific concerns as they plan and build customer-facing features
• Ensure a top-quality developer experience by improving the reliability and usability of our continuous integration, metrics collection, and mobile build systems
• Leverage your experience to mentor junior developers and level up the team
• Produce high-quality maintainable code, test, collaboratively review, and ship it
