Senior Software Engineer

Summary

Join Samsara's Smart Trailer and Connected Equipment team as a full-stack engineer and contribute to the development of end-to-end solutions for tracking equipment utilization, monitoring loads and temperature, and providing comprehensive asset tracking. This remote role, open to US candidates (excluding the San Francisco Bay Area and NYC Metro Area), offers the opportunity to impact global industries by building scalable, customer-focused software, firmware, and hardware. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and champion Samsara's cultural principles. The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience, 5+ years of software development experience, and proficiency in at least one relevant programming language. Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of relevant industry experience in software development
• Strong programming/coding fundamentals with proficiency in at least one of the following: Go, GraphQL, TypeScript, React
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage technical discussions

• Deliver features by being willing to work across role and team boundaries, including collaboration with our cross functional partners like hardware, firmware and product
• Work with other junior engineers on the team and help improve the team by not just focusing on your output, but also grow and mentor other engineers

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building and shipping a 0-1 product
• Understanding of how to build for stability and growth while being responsive to customer feedback
