Remote Senior Software Engineer

Join Snapsheet's Virtual Appraisals team as a Senior Software Engineer and contribute to enhancing our cutting-edge claims platform. This remote, full-time position requires 5+ years of backend web development experience with expertise in APIs, relational databases, and scalability. You will collaborate with engineers, product management, and design to solve complex problems. Requirements

• 5+ years of backend-focused web development experience including: Designing and building APIs
• Designing schemas and performant queries for relational databases
• Understanding of scalability challenges and performance of server-side code
• Eagerness to learn from and work with a collaborative team
• Commitment to quality and passion for technology and creating cutting-edge solutions
• Ability to manage tasks and to contribute towards multiple initiatives during a sprint

Responsibilities

• Enhance our newest estimating tool that will automate workflows and significantly boost productivity for our estimating team
• Contribute to technical design processes and provide improvement suggestions and feedback
• Play an influential role in growing Snapsheet to be the industry leader in technology
• Work in an agile environment and participate in weekly stand-ups, retrospectives, etc
• Proactively challenge scopes, flag issues, and suggest alternatives
• Collaborating with other engineers, product management, and design to identify and solve complex problems

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience using Ruby on Rails
