Join Snapsheet's Virtual Appraisals team as a Senior Software Engineer and contribute to enhancing our cutting-edge claims platform. You will play a key role in automating workflows, improving efficiency, and boosting productivity. This remote, full-time position requires 5+ years of backend web development experience with expertise in APIs, relational databases, and scalability. You will collaborate with engineers, product management, and design to solve complex problems. Requirements
- 5+ years of backend-focused web development experience including: Designing and building APIs
- Designing schemas and performant queries for relational databases
- Understanding of scalability challenges and performance of server-side code
- Eagerness to learn from and work with a collaborative team
- Commitment to quality and passion for technology and creating cutting-edge solutions
- Ability to manage tasks and to contribute towards multiple initiatives during a sprint
Responsibilities
- Enhance our newest estimating tool that will automate workflows and significantly boost productivity for our estimating team
- Contribute to technical design processes and provide improvement suggestions and feedback
- Play an influential role in growing Snapsheet to be the industry leader in technology
- Work in an agile environment and participate in weekly stand-ups, retrospectives, etc
- Proactively challenge scopes, flag issues, and suggest alternatives
- Collaborating with other engineers, product management, and design to identify and solve complex problems

Prior experience using Ruby on Rails
