Requirements

  • At least 5 years of industry experience as a software engineer
  • Experience designing, building, and scaling full-stack applications, including backend systems, APIs, and frontend interfaces
  • Experience using GenAI or applied ML to create products and solving user problems
  • Understanding of how to improve ML systems, creating eval sets, and driving quality hill-climbing
  • Comfort operating up and down the stack: frontend, API, backend, and database
  • Experience working at rapidly scaling startups and large companies, especially with environments that prioritize a bias for action
  • Action-driven, willing to roll up your sleeves and engage directly with users. While you bring strong opinions, you prioritize building a platform that meets users where they are

Responsibilities

  • Team up with product engineering teams to design and implement AI-powered features to deliver customer value
  • Work closely with other engineers at Vanta to understand their pain points in AI development and identify opportunities for improvements
  • Design, build, and improve AI infrastructure and tooling to unblock product strategy
  • Make effective tradeoffs that consider business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation
  • Set an example for effective, collaborative engineering culture, and help mentor junior team members
