Senior Software Engineer

Summary

Join VergeSense as a Senior Software Engineer and contribute to the development of our Occupancy Intelligence Platform. Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience designing, building, and shipping software
• Proven ability to lead projects and effectively communicate with cross-functional teams
• Expertise in Ruby/Ruby on Rails or similar server-side/web framework technologies
• Extensive experience building APIs, managing high-volume data, and optimizing large-scale systems
• Strong expertise in designing, debugging, testing, and writing well-documented code
• Skilled in optimizing background job processing, query performance, and database scalability
• Familiar with Docker and Kubernetes for containerization and orchestration in production environments

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for technical roadmaps
• Collaborate with various departments to shape the overall product roadmap
• Serve as a strategic thought partner for leaders across the organization on driving business impact through application feature delivery
• Coach and mentor the next generation of strong engineers on the team

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Kafka or similar pub/sub systems for building reliable, distributed architectures
