Senior Software Engineer

Summary

Join Xometry, a company connecting innovators with manufacturers, as a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer. You will be part of a collaborative team building solutions for financial operations and payment workflows on the Xometry platform. This is a one-year contract position focusing on designing, coding, testing, and releasing software. You will work with various technologies including React, Node, and Express, and collaborate with engineers, product managers, and designers. Operational responsibilities include deploying services and on-call rotation. The role offers opportunities for individual growth and is remote.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in a fast-paced technical, problem-solving environment as a software developer
• Demonstrable understanding of software engineering fundamentals
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, DOM web programming
• Knowledge and demonstrated experience in React, Node, Typescript, and REST APIs
• Experience with software engineering principles related to security, scalability, asynchronous programming and transactions
• Attention to detail, good work ethic, ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, and good communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design, code, test, and release software
• Read, write, and review code written in HTML, Typescript/Javascript, and SQL using technologies such as React, Node, and Express
• Closely collaborate with other engineers, product managers, and designers to become a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional team
• Take operational responsibility for the services owned by your team, including deploying services into an AWS and Kubernetes environment and taking part in an on-call rotation
• Work in an environment that supports your individual growth

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud-based systems utilizing AWS services with a focus on scalable, event-driven architectures and high-performance, reliable solutions
• Experience with building and testing technologies using one or more of the following Git/Github actions, GitLab
• Demonstrated knowledge of principles of service-oriented architectures and ability to lead efforts in defining and implementing a service strategy
• Experience with PostgreSQL and relational database design to ensure data integrity, scalability, and performance in production environments
