Senior Software Engineer, Backend

Summary

Join Affirm's OpenLoop BNPL team and lead the design, development, and deployment of software systems and applications supporting Affirm's expanding open loop products. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, write efficient code in Python, Kotlin, or other languages, and optimize existing code. Mentor junior engineers, review code, and lead technical discussions. Analyze and troubleshoot complex issues, developing innovative solutions. This role requires 5+ years of software development experience, strong leadership and communication skills, proficiency in programming languages, cloud platforms, and database systems. Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software development or engineering, with a deep understanding of system design and architecture
• Motivated leader, inspiring team growth and fostering a culture of continuous learning
• Excellent communicator, adept at sharing complex ideas with diverse audiences
• Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, Kotlin, or similar
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of database systems (SQL, NoSQL), web frameworks, and RESTful API development
• Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, DevOps)
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
