Senior Software Engineer, Growth Engineering

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, preferably in an e-commerce or growth-focused engineering environment
• A strong understanding of modern web technologies (React, GraphQL, Javascript, Typescript, HTML5, CSS3)
• Proven experience building complex consumer web applications with a strong understanding of state management
• Strong understanding of CSS, design principles, and component library creation
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities, with the capacity to translate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
• Ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple projects, and deliver results on tight deadlines
• Familiarity with cloud hosting providers such as AWS

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute the design, development, and deployment of high-impact features for our flow platform
• Build scalable and performant full stack solutions that drive business growth
• Mentor and develop team members by setting best practices for architecture, coding, delivery, and operations
• Foster collaboration across engineering pods and teams to create reusable, scalable solutions, contributing to architecture blueprints that benefit the entire organization
• Partner with key stakeholders in product, design, infrastructure, marketing, and project management to make data-driven decisions and optimize performance
• Contribute to the technical and strategic vision of the Category Growth Engineering pods, identifying and implementing new technologies to enhance security, scalability, reliability, and performance
• Collaborate with backend and quality engineers to deliver high-quality code that powers hims.com and forhers.com
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by actively participating in sprint ceremonies and process refinement

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with React Native
• Passion for healthcare and a keen interest in understanding the complexities of the problem space
• Experience leading and mentoring engineering teams
• Proficiency in TypeScript, GraphQL, and power user of tools such as Datadog, Amplitude, and Growthbook
• Expertise in Domain Driven Microservice Architectures and Micro Front-Ends
