Senior Software Engineer I

Summary

Join Axon's Data Ingestion & Movement team and help power the Axon Ecosystem by reliably moving petabytes of customer data. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design and implement new features for the next generation Data Movement Platform, own throughput optimizations, work closely with customers, lead engineering architecture and design reviews, and build the technical roadmap. This role requires 6+ years of experience in software engineering or data engineering, experience designing for high availability, and expertise in at least one object-oriented backend language. Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in software engineering or data engineering
• Experience designing for high availability, reliability, security, and performance
• Experience building complex and impactful software in a team environment
• Expert in at least one object oriented backend language such as C#, Java, Scala
• Proven experience scaling distributed systems for 10x growth
• Experience mentoring and growing junior engineers

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new features for the next generation Data Movement Platform
• Own throughput optimizations to support 10× data growth
• Work closely with customers and design top-priority features
• Lead engineering architecture and design reviews
• Build the technical roadmap for the Data Movement Platform

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with NoSQL databases, such as Cosmos DB, DynamoDB, or Cassandra
• Experience with DevOps technologies like Terraform, GitHub Actions, and Docker
• Experience building, operating and scaling data movement platforms
