Responsibilities
- Consistently demonstrate strong, autonomous problem-solving skills
- Lead a team's complex projects with many moving parts (technologies, teams), ensuring all aspects are completed
- Take on the team's most challenging problems with minimal guidance
- Point out long-standing technical problems, propose solutions, and advocate for their resolution
- Design multiple architecturally sound, scalable, elegant solutions of medium-large complexity
- Help set team direction and priorities by partnering with the TL, PM, and other engineers
- Provide experienced guidance and feedback on technical designs, decisions, and projects
- Step in as TL for an interim period (e.g., during a transition, vacation, sabbatical, or parental leave)
- Embrace a growth mindset and consistently develop deeper or broader technical skills
- Serve as the go-to person for your technical domain
- Mentor other engineers on the team
- Promote quality in engineering best practices
- Be a critical IC on multiple projects with significant and sustained customer impact
- Expand focus into other problem areas and work on multiple teams
- Master additional technical platforms
- Take on broader system design work, owning larger areas of the product
- Work on framework-level technical architecture and design
- Build scalable, performant, cross-platform features
- Work closely with the TL, PM, and PD to guide the team's direction
- Serve as the cross-team technical leader for big projects
