Senior Software Engineer II

Summary

Join Instacart's Order Experience team as a skilled web engineer to drive the company's growth. Collaborate with talented engineers on core order experiences used by millions daily. Develop, design, and test mobile and desktop web applications, lead complex technical efforts, and architect efficient front-end systems. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to peers, implementing features and user interfaces to optimize performance. This remote role requires 5+ years of web development experience, proficiency in JavaScript and React, a strong foundation in software testing, and exceptional communication skills. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.

Requirements

• 5+ years of web development experience, with a strong record of project delivery
• Proficiency in frontend languages and frameworks, Javascript and React
• A solid foundation in software testing for web applications
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to lead and collaborate with diverse teams
• Holds a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and/or test mobile and desktop web software applications or systems
• Lead complex technical or product efforts involving many engineers
• Architect efficient and reusable front-end systems that drive complex web applications
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to peers
• Implement features and user interfaces to optimize performance of user-facing products

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the development of scalable e-commerce platforms
• Deep understanding of web architecture principles
• Skilled in the use of monitoring and observability tools like Datadog
