Senior Software Engineer II

Summary

Join Instacart's AI Productivity team as a Senior Software Engineer II and build internal AI-powered products to boost engineering team productivity. You will develop intelligent agents for efficient workflows and core foundational services for LLM and AI infrastructure. Responsibilities include on-call incident response and addressing customer concerns. You'll also contribute to new product development and leverage AI tools to accelerate development. The team prioritizes ownership and collaboration, working closely with engineers and leaders across the company. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages
• 3 years of experience in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems, and 2 years of experience leading projects and providing technical leadership
• Strong proficiency in maintaining high standards for production services
• Rapid coding skills and management of production services
• Experience with high scale throughput and distributed systems problems

• Take ownership of building intelligent agents that enable our teams to work efficiently
• Take ownership of core foundational services that power LLM and AI infrastructure for the entire company
• Respond to on-call incidents, resolving issues, and addressing customer concerns
• Help shape new products and make use of AI tools to accelerate development

• Strong communication skills and ability to contextualize problems across various audiences
• Skilled at navigating ambiguity and involving the right stakeholders to address issues efficiently
• Experience building and shipping products to users
• Expertise in leveraging AI to enhance delivery velocity and efficiency
• Visionary thinker capable of generating transformative ideas
• Prior experience working with AI systems is a plus
