Summary

Join Smartsheet's engineering team and build scalable, distributed services for next-generation applications using Kotlin and Java. Requirements

  • 7+ years software development experience building highly scalable, highly available applications
  • 7+ years of programming experience with full stack technologies with Java, Kotlin or TypeScript
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Experience developing, documenting, and supporting REST APIs
  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field or equivalent practical experience
  • Legally eligible to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis

Responsibilities

  • Build Scalable Distributed Services: Develop scalable and efficient services for the next generation of applications using Kotlin and Java
  • Solve Complex Distributed Systems Problems: Address challenging distributed systems issues and leverage modern cloud infrastructure, including AWS and Kubernetes
  • Deep Technical Expertise: Demonstrate a deep understanding of multiple technology areas. Identify and propose improvements to existing implementations, and effectively review and recommend technologies for complex systems
  • Lead Code Reviews and Architectural Discussions: Collaborate with other software engineers and product managers to lead code reviews and participate in architectural discussions
  • Mentor and Guide Team Members: Provide mentorship in design, coding, and testing. Contribute to the improvement of coding styles and design patterns within the team
  • Collaborate with Product Management: Forge strong partnerships with product management and other key areas of the business to align technical solutions with business goals
