The role involves working on systems optimizing routes, rendering vehicles on maps, processing video, and creating driver messaging platforms. Requirements

  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent practical experience
  • Have 8+ years of relevant industry experience in software development
  • Possess strong programming/coding fundamentals
  • Have experience designing and architecting large, high-scale systems
  • Demonstrate excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage technical discussions
  • Have an ability to estimate, communicate, and deliver upon project milestones with your team

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop features across a broad surface area with a tangible impact on active and future customers
  • Tackle engineering challenges ranging from architecting data structures for mass data collection to presenting data analytics in intuitive and performant ways on web and mobile
  • Work on a system that optimizes routes for fleets of vehicles that drive a million miles per week
  • Work on live rendering and animating thousands of vehicles concurrently on country-scale maps
  • Work on video processing and automatically classifying dangerous driving behavior with our internet-connected dashboard camera
  • Work on using driving quality metrics computed from vehicle sensor data to gamify the driver experience
  • Create a driver messaging platform end to end, from bringing up services to staged mobile app rollouts
  • Champion, role model, and embed Samsaraโ€™s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices
