Senior Software Test Engineer

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software testing or quality assurance
• Associate degree, coding bootcamp, or equivalent education in IT/Computer Science
• One or more areas of deep specialization, such as: Test Automation, Release Management, Security/Penetration Testing, Load & Performance Testing, API Testing
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, can-do attitude
• Ability to think holistically about software systems and spot issues before they arise
• A love for digging in, finding bugs, and ensuring an amazing user experience

Responsibilities

• Be the quality coach and advocate for best testing practices across the team
• Proactively identify and mitigate risks during early planning stages
• Lead testing strategy and execution in a highly collaborative Agile environment
• Break down large, complex stories into smaller, testable pieces with clearly defined acceptance criteria
• Design, document, and maintain manual test cases for complex scenarios
• Execute exploratory, session-based, and risk-based tests
• Help build and manage test environments
• Stay ahead of the curve by researching new tools, trends, and technologies
• Provide mentorship to junior testers or team members (if interested)

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related field
• 6+ years of experience
• Experience with Agile/Scrum teams
• Hands-on experience with: Web and mobile application testing, Test automation tools, JavaScript, .NET, C#, or Java, SQL and backend validation, Performance and stress testing
