Requirements
- University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant discipline
- 8+ years of experience in solution/data architecture, with strong expertise in AI, data engineering and cloud technologies
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience architecting and implementing scalable, secure, and cost-effective Azure solutions. This includes experience with Azure infrastructure, such as virtual machines, storage, networking, and security, as well as experience with Azure services, such as Azure SQL Database, Azure App Service, Azure Functions, and Azure Cognitive Service
- Hands-on experience with Azure services (e.g., Azure ML, Azure Databricks, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, AKS) and their counterparts in open-source environments
- Strong experience with data lake/data warehouse design, metadata management, and ETL/ELT architectures
- Expertise in Azure data services (e.g., Azure SQL, Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Databricks)
- Experience with data governance tools (e.g., Microsoft Purview)
- Understanding of data governance standards and compliance (GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001)
- Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and relevant tools (e.g., Azure Resource Manager, Terraform, Ansible) for data platform provisioning
- Knowledge and experience in architecture design tools (e.g., Visio, Sparx EA) and modeling notation (e.g., Azure architecture icon library, ArchiMate, UML, C4 model)
- Experience using Agile software development methodologies (i.e., Kanban, Scrum, and other lean techniques)
- Experience working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, capable of communicating complex technical concepts clearly and concisely
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience and willingness to work in an international/multicultural environment
- Excellent knowledge of the English language (written and verbal)
Responsibilities
- Design and architect end-to-end data and AI solutions across Azure or hybrid environments, ensuring alignment with business and technical requirements
- Design, implement, and govern robust, scalable, and secure data architectures for AI-driven services and analytics platforms
- Define and maintain the overall data architecture strategy, including data models, data flows, metadata management, and integration architectures
- Design modern data platforms supporting structured and unstructured data, leveraging data lakes, lakehouses and warehouses
- Lead the design of data storage, ingestion, transformation, and serving layers (ETL/ELT pipelines)
- Collaborate with business, development and data teams to define the cloud architecture of AI solutions and machine learning models (e.g., deep learning, NLP, computer vision)
- Oversee the integration of various Azure services such as Azure Databricks, Azure SQL, Event Grid, and Azure Functions
- Collaborate with AI/ML teams to enable data readiness for training, validation, and deployment of models
- Provide guidance on best practices for deploying AI and data pipelines within the Azure ecosystem
- Enable and promote the use of metadata management, data cataloging, and master data management (MDM)
- Ensure compliance with data governance policies and the integration of security measures across the architecture
- Lead technical discussions with stakeholders to ensure that all requirements are understood and met
- Support infrastructure teams in defining storage, compute, and network requirements for the data platform
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to developers and junior members of the team
- Create and maintain technical documents describing the system architecture and its infrastructure
