Conduct comprehensive market research to understand customer needs and competitor offerings. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop merchandise products for both external and internal customers. Work closely with Design, Brand, and Sales teams to ensure merchandise aligns with the Scout brand and drives retail sales. Develop a targeted marketing strategy and assets for the website and workshop. Partner with the Marketing team to deploy merchandise-specific campaigns. Select and manage vendors, maintain strong vendor relationships, and monitor inventory levels. Prepare and present regular reports on sales, profitability, and emerging trends. Utilize merchandising software and data analysis tools to make informed decisions.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field
- 7+ years of experience in retail sales and merchandising
- Strong analytical, organizational, negotiation, and communication skills
- Proficiency in inventory management and forecasting
- Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams
- In-depth knowledge of retail trends and consumer behavior
- Experience with merchandising software and data analysis tools
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive market research to understand customer needs, competitor offerings, and emerging trends in branded merchandise
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to develop a suite of merchandise products that meet the needs of both external and internal customers
- Work closely with the Design, Brand, and Sales teams to ensure merchandise aligns with the Scout brand, excites customers, and drives retail sales
- Develop a targeted marketing strategy and assets for both the website and workshop
- Partner with the Marketing team to deploy merchandise-specific campaigns through various channels, including CRM and digital platforms
- Select and manage vendors who offer high-quality, value-driven merchandise
- Maintain strong vendor relationships and ensure contractual deliverables are met
- Monitor inventory levels to prevent overstock and shortages while leveraging sales performance data for purchasing and promotional decisions
- Prepare and present regular reports on sales, profitability, customer engagement, and emerging trends
- Utilize merchandising software and data analysis tools to make informed decisions
